Designed by international golf course architect and former P.G.A. Captain Dave Thomas, the par 72 golf course, measuring 7006 yards has hosted a variety of professional events including the Ladies British Masters, PGA North Region Championship and the Manchester Open. The front nine holes are set in attractive parkland, and the back nine in more demanding woodland, creating a layout that is an extension to the surrounding landscape - a challenge for all standards of golfer to play and enjoy. Both loops of nine holes return to the Clubhouse - a facility that underwent a one million pound redevelopment in 2003.Boasting a fully stocked golf shop, wood panelled changing rooms, golf bag store and drying room, conference and full dining facilities, this is the perfect location to relax for both the golfer and non-golfer alike. Signature Hole -17th "A truly magnificent hole of 463 yards with a slight dogleg to the right and probably the most picturesque hole in Cheshire. From an elevated tee, the golfer plays to a generous fairway but must be careful of water on the right and a bunker on the left, the ideal line being to the left of the fairway. With water 60 yards from the front of the green and bunkers left and right, great care must be taken with the second and third shot alike. (Ken Brown - 1999 Ryder Cup Vice-Captain) | |
